Public Meeting for Volunteers
posted about 5 years ago by garethwilliams from Bay View Refugee Support Group
Bay View Refugee Support Group will be holding a public meeting on Saturday March 19th at 10am in the Community Room at Sobey's on Brant St to meet with volunteers interested in supporting our cause.
We are a group of concerned citizens of Burlington who have come together to support the immigration to Canada of members of the family of Saed, currently living in Syria.
Saed came to Canada in 2000 as a stateless Palestinian refugee He has since become a Canadian citizen. After working at various jobs in the Hamilton & Burlington area he established his small business on Plains Road. Saed would like to bring members off his family to Canada. Specifically his brother and sister in law and their five daughters along with his nephew, his sister’s son.
Any and all who want to help this cause are invited to attend the Public Meeting to learn more and to meet Saed. We would appreciate it you could RSVP via email or phone (see below).
If you are not able to attend the public meeting, but still want to offer your support please contact us. We are also accepting donations online or by cheque through Wesley Urban Ministries please visit http://www.bayviewrefugeegroup.info for details.
For questions please contact Gareth or Sandy at 905-331-5961 or email bvrsg2016@gmail.com
